Rubik's Cube for Square Syndrome Tweets from Lisa Rau
Most of us are squares, closeted or not. We want to do well. We want people to think we’re smart, even when we’re not. We like rules, if only to not follow them.

Let’s face it. You’re not the only person who proclaims, “I’m such a nerd,” in a sincere effort to show your down-to-earth desire to be brainy and quirky. I believe you are brainy and quirky! These are two of our generation’s most pronounced character traits.

Square Syndrome is a dork-friendly portal for the smart and the silly, the quantitative and the qualitative. We all need a steady little dose of edutainment to keep things bright.

I promise to share cool stuff that reinforces the brainy, quirky little voice inside all of us.

Subscribe to this blog to come along for the ride, and maybe we’ll learn a thing or two along the way — if only to add to our secret list of conversation starters.

Square Syndrome (n.)

Pathology — A chronic condition characterized by excessive desire for correctness, ambitiousness, appearing intelligent-yet-humble to others, rule-following, political correctness, and generalized squarishness. Also indicated by sneers from peers.

Treatment — Coloring outside the lines, eating soup with a fork and curb-stomping bureaucracy.

Status — Working on it.

I started this blog because one day it hit me that I was so well-rounded that I was a fucking square but had so much more to share than good grades and a cheesy smile.
